Las Vegas Frankenstein is a 2023 comedic horror film about a hypnotist who brings the dead back to life on stage.
Directed by Tom Devlin – making his feature directorial debut – from a screenplay by Vince Cusimano, who also stars, and Lola Devlin.
The Plan 10 Pictures production also stars Victoria Strange, John Karyus, Steve Hansen, Caleb Emerson, Eileen Dietz, Daniel Roebuck, Kiki D’Aire, Michael Carbonaro, Peter Stickles, Noah Hathaway, Matt Osborn, Bobby Banfield, Wesley Cannon, Tabitha Stevens, Tara McDade and Kayla Bushell.
Plot:
Victor Van Pelt (Vince Cusimano) is a popular Las Vegas hypnotist whose stage show is losing its spark. When he unexpectedly inherits Mary Shelley’s original Frankenstein journal, Victor becomes obsessed with staging the ultimate illusion: bringing the dead back to life.
With his glamorous wife Tabitha (Victoria Strange)and his devoted, Igor‑like assistant Gary (John Karyus), Victor sneaks partygoers from after‑show events, using them as raw material for his grand experiment
As Victor delves deeper into Shelley’s arcane notes, the trio transforms Vegas nightlife into a macabre laboratory. Victor harnesses hypnosis, experimental biology, and stagecraft in a bid to animate a corpse in front of a live audience. However, as the boundary between entertainment and real horror dissolves, the stakes skyrocket: will the performance dazzle or destroy?
Along the way, appearances by characters such as Detective Gladwell (Daniel Roebuck), a shopkeeper’s wife (Eileen Dietz), and even multiple Elvis impersonators add to Vegas’s surreal and passing glamour, but the improvised creature becomes increasingly unstable…
